Indications

To reduce the excitability of the uterus during pregnancy; with a spasm of the uterine pharynx during childbirth, prolonged opening of the pharynx, postpartum contractions, threatening abortion.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to drotaverine.

Composition

Active substance: Drotaverine.

Release form: 1.Tablets 40 mg; 2.Tablets 80 mg; 3.Solution for intravenous and intramuscular administration of 2% 2 ml amp.

Method of application

Orally, I / m, I / v or n / a for adults - 40-80 mg 1-3 times / day. For hepatic and renal colic, it is recommended to inject intravenously slowly at a dose of 40-80 mg.

In case of spasms of the peripheral arteries, drotaverine can be administered intravenously.

For children under the age of 6 years, when taken orally, a single dose is 10-20 mg, 6-12 years - 20 mg, the frequency of use is 1-2 times / day.

Special instructions

Special instructions: Use with caution in patients with severe atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries.

Drotaverine can be used as part of combination therapy to relieve a hypertensive crisis.

Interaction with other drugs: When used simultaneously with tricyclic antidepressants, quinidine, procainamide, the decrease in blood pressure caused by tricyclic antidepressants, quinidine and procainamide increases.

With simultaneous use, the spasmogenic activity of morphine decreases.

With simultaneous use with levodopa, it is possible to reduce the antiparkinsonian effect of levodopa.

With simultaneous use, the effect of papaverine, bendazole and other antispasmodics (including m-holinoblockers) increases.

When used simultaneously with phenobarbital, the severity of the antispasmodic effect of drotaverine increases.

Side effects: From the cardiovascular system: palpitations, a feeling of heat; with intravenous administration, there were cases of a decrease in blood pressure (up to collapse), the development of AV blockade, the appearance of arrhythmias.

From the respiratory system: with intravenous administration, cases of respiratory center depression have been noted.

Other: dizziness, increased sweating.
